I thought I would try and dig out of the drawers block with a few portraits of some relevant creatures. Always been a fan of the old black and whites from the golden age of movies. That is probably what got me to graphite and charcoal. Trying to figure out how to make a living at it is the difficult part. Im happy with my technique for the most part. Its the creative eye one must add to make a piece personal that can derail the process. Power on...

You know, I have the patience and (talent) to sit for five days and draw two entries for the Dark Shadows contest. But it is beyond me how to take those two pieces and put them in the required templates to qualify them for entry. I can get them from the drawing table to the camera, then the computer, then cropped and ready, I can even get them on the entries page. But not in the proper template. I downloaded the, what was it called, asset file. I saw the templates, clicked, but then, well thats where it all fell apart. Ponderous.

I recently had a piece from my gallery accepted in an art competition in Los Cruces, New Mexico. Here is the link www.americanplainsartists.com. Page three of this years show is of particular note. Big prize money and a potential sale are on the line. If nothing comes of that, the show reception should be fun. And I get to meet one of my artist heroes Robert Shufelt. Wish me luck.
